OUR MISSION

 

In 2003, Joseph and Josephine Maitre simply wanted to help young children in Haiti. They sent their personal funds to assist with elementary education on a regular basis to needy schools. They started in Limonade for seven years.

 

In 2010, the Maitres furthered their efforts by creating Helping Hands With Love (HHWL). The organization has partnered with l'Eglise Baptiste de Sion (Zion Baptist Church) in Saint Louis du Nord, Haiti . The goals of HHWL include:

​* Providing a healthy breakfast to students attending l'Eglise Baptiste de Sion Elementary School in Saint Louis du Nord, Haiti. Without a proper meal to start the school day, students suffer from hunger pains, fatigue, and lack of concentration.

* Ensuring that teachers are paid in a timely fashion by assisting with teachers' salaries. It is not uncommon for teachers in Haiti to go three months or more without being paid.

* Providing spiritual support to our brothers and sisters at l'Eglise Baptiste de Sion. The volunteer staff of HHWL firmly believes that anything good must come from our heavenly Father.

 

Helping Hands With Love, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization serving the needs of students and teachers at l'Eglise Baptiste de Sion Elementary School in Saint-Louis du Nord, Madeline, Haiti and El Seibo, DR
